The International Association of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes the role of the pediatricians and other health professionals in promoting children´s oral health among families worldwide.
The IAPD actively participated in the 28th International Congress of Pediatrics that was held in Vancouver Canada in August 17th-22nd,2016. The meeting attracted pediatricians from more than 120 countries. The topics covered in this meeting were very interesting ranging from the importance of the brain in the development of children to the impact of violence and conflicts in children.

Oral health was also a topic covered during the meeting. A 'Meet the Experts' session titled “Detection and Treatment of Oral Health Problems” and a Concurrent session titled “Oral Health” were part of the scientific program with high success. IAPD past-president Dr. Jorge Castillo had the chance to give two lectures: the Management of Dental Emergencies by Pediatricians and the Oral Health in Developing Countries. It was also a great opportunity to let Pediatricians know about our association and to continue the growth of the relationship between the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) and the International Association of Pediatrics (IPA).
