Bursaries & Awards

Several prizes and travel bursaries are administered by the IAPD for the benefit of individual members. These are made available at the Congresses of IAPD.

These include:

The Bengt Magnusson Memorial Prize that is offered by the OMEGA-PHARMA, HELLAS and is awarded to a young paediatric dentist for the best research paper submitted to coincide with the IAPD Congress every two years. The prize is in memory of Professor Bengt Magnusson.

The Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Award that is offered by the IAPD at each Biennial Congress with the support of The Colgate-Palmolive Company and it will be given for the best community education program submitted to the competition.

The Jens Andreasen Award, a biannual award, that is presented for the best poster on dental traumatology in children. The award is 400 pounds and it is funded from funds in the IAPD general account which were acquired from the Andreasen pre-Congress lectures.

The Morita Prize that is offered by the Morita Corporation for the best poster exhibited at the IAPD Congress.

Travel Bursaries Three bursaries of 1000 USD each will be available for the IAPD biannual Congress. Preference is given to applicants with an abstract submitted/accepted for the Congress, persons who have not received a bursary previously and those from less wealthy nations.

Abstract Submissions:

Scientific Committee of The Congress
Abstracts for the Morita Prize award and the Jens Andreasen award must clearly state if they will contest for the Morita Prize or for The Jens Andreasen award.
